WHY MUST I WAIT?

Waiting can seem so burdensome and human beings generally do not have the patience to wait for so long. Why wait when you need it to happen immediately?

Well as Christians, waiting is part of our lives. It is a period every Christian must face in their Christian journey. It could be once or more than once throughout the Christian’s life.

Worthy of note is that one will surely get out, but you must bear the cost.

What is waiting like?

Using a hypothetical scenario, you have 24 people on a line waiting to get to the counter and receive their orders.

You are number 21 and it seem as if it is going to take forever but you just got here so, your energy is still raw.

Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 were called and the wait does not look bad because they are actually calling the numbers quickly.

Then No 7 is called and he tarries with the workers at the counter.

You get so angry at the amount of time they are taking with number 7 but you wait. I mean a little longer wouldn’t hurt anybody right?

After waiting for what seems like forever No 7 finally leaves the spot for another number to come enter.

Whilst you were still preparing for Number 8’s delay, they shout, NEXT!!!!!!

Oh okay?

Numbers 9, 10,11,12,13 get called and left almost immediately.

Number 14 is called and another round of delay is unleashed.

This was even worse than that of Number 7. The frown on your face and the anger you feel can actually change the directions of the organs in your body. You could not contain it any longer so you scream on top of your voice. Apparently upset, you decide to walk out and just give up.

Then you hear

Next!!!!

Are these people joking with me?

Well let me just wait, since I’m still here. Here goes nothing!

Quickly Numbers 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 were called.

In what seem like an unreal movie:

You are next. Number 21.

You only wanted to receive your orders and dash out, but you were welcomed with a standing ovation like a royalty that you are. You were given a seat to sit down. Asked numerous questions. Given a first class treatment. Then finally, you were handed your orders. It was really worth the wait!

You spent “eternity” with the workers before you finally took your leave.

They that wait upon the Lord, He shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. This statement made by the workers kept going through your mind.

By the time you left the spot with your orders, you realize you are in fact part of the numbers that tarried before the workers. It was not about the delay, you were among the few found worthy and chosen not only to receive your long awaited orders (answers) but to also know the secret and plan of the master (God) and become a world changer.

When it is finally your turn, I hope you understand why the wait was necessary?
